About the Program
Pilots step away from the airplane for all kinds of reasons — a management tour, an international contract, medical leave, a different fleet. When you're ready to come back to the B737, the FAA requires more than a standard recurrent check, and our requalification curriculum is approved in two tracks so the course matches the lapse.
If your last PIC proficiency check was 12 to 35 months ago, the short track applies: the same ground footprint as recurrent — 16 hours of CPAT home study plus one ground school day — with two full-flight simulator modules before your 61.58 check. Out 36 to 59 months? The long track rebuilds procedural depth with two systems-integration sessions and four simulator modules — engine-inoperative procedures, hydraulic malfunctions including manual reversion, flight-control malfunctions, and a full check review — before the proficiency check.
Both tracks finish with the complete 61.58 proficiency check and restore your 61.57 currency — day, night, and instrument — at the same time. Pricing is per pilot, paired, with a two-pilot minimum: $3,999 for the short track at either campus, and $7,499 in Miami or $8,499 in Dallas for the long track.
What to Expect
Two FAA-Approved Tracks
The course footprint is sized to your lapse — 12–35 months or 36–59 months since your last PIC check — so you never buy more training than the regulations require.
Home Study First
The 16-hour systems refresher is CPAT distance learning at home, keeping your on-site time to the flying and the check.
Deep Procedural Rebuild
The long track includes systems-integration sessions and four sim modules — V1 cuts, manual reversion, alternate gear extension, engine-out approaches — before check day.
Fully Current on Completion
You leave with your 61.58 check complete and 61.57 day, night, and instrument currency restored.
Common Questions
Which requalification track do I need?
It depends on your last B737 PIC proficiency check. Twelve to 35 months ago: the short track ($3,999 per pilot paired). Thirty-six to 59 months: the long track ($7,499 Miami / $8,499 Dallas per pilot paired). Beyond 59 months, call us — we'll scope the right path back, up to and including initial training.
How long does requalification take on site?
The short track runs about four days on site — ground school day, two simulator modules, and the check. The long track runs about eight training days, adding two systems-integration sessions and two more simulator modules.
Does the course restore my currency too?
Yes. Both tracks satisfy 61.58 plus the full set of 61.57 recency requirements — day and night takeoffs and landings, instrument currency, and the instrument proficiency check.
Why is paired pricing cheaper?
Requalification simulator hours are the same paired or solo — pairing splits the shared simulator and instructor costs across two pilots, so each pays less for identical training. We can often match you with another requalifying pilot; ask when you call.
