Home Study — 16 Hours CPAT Distance Learning
Refresh every B737-800 system from home on CPAT Global courseware — 16 hours covering air systems, electrics, engines and APU, hydraulics, flight controls, warning systems, limitations, and more — before you travel.

On-Site Ground School & Validation Exam — 1 Day
One day covering general operational subjects — performance, weight and balance, upset recovery, CRM — plus your proctored validation exam.

Full-Flight Simulator — Proficiency Check Review
A four-hour simulator module rehearsing everything on the check: steep turns, stall series, engine failure after V1, single-engine ILS and go-around, non-standard flap landings, holding, rejected takeoff, and evacuation.

61.58 Proficiency Check
The oral examination, preflight inspection, and simulator proficiency check to ATP ACS standards — signed off and current for another year.
About the Program
If you fly the B737 as pilot-in-command, FAR 61.58 requires a PIC proficiency check every 12 months. Our recurrent course is built to get working pilots checked and back on the line with the least possible time away — most of the ground refresher happens at home, before you ever pack a bag.
You'll complete 16 hours of B737-800 systems review through CPAT Global distance learning on your own schedule. On site, the footprint is tight: one day of ground school covering operational subjects with your validation exam, a four-hour full-flight simulator session rehearsing the complete profile of the check, and then the proficiency check itself — oral, preflight inspection, and simulator — conducted to ATP ACS standards.
Beyond the 61.58 check, the course also restores your takeoff-and-landing and instrument currency under 61.57 — day, night, and instrument — in one visit. Train paired with another pilot and each of you pays $2,999; the simulator hours are the same as solo training, so paired is simply the same training at a lower price.
What to Expect
Minimum Time Away
Sixteen of the course's twenty-two ground hours are distance learning at home — your on-site footprint is a ground school day, a sim session, and the check.
Complete 61.58 Check
Oral exam, preflight inspection, and simulator proficiency check conducted by a Training Center Evaluator to ATP ACS standards.
Currency Restored Too
The course also satisfies 61.57 day, night, and instrument recency — including the instrument proficiency check — in the same visit.
Real Check-Profile Rehearsal
Your simulator session flies the actual check profile — V1 cuts, engine-out ILS, stall series, non-standard flap landings — so nothing on check day is a surprise.
Common Questions
How much does 737 recurrent training cost?
$2,999 per pilot at either campus — Dallas, TX or Miami, FL — for paired enrollment with a two-pilot minimum. Simulator hours are identical to solo training; pairing simply splits the shared costs. Solo pricing is quoted on request.
How much time do I need on site?
About three days: one day of ground school and your validation exam, one simulator session, and your proficiency check. The 16-hour systems refresher is done at home on CPAT before you arrive.
What are the prerequisites?
A pilot certificate with AMEL, instrument rating, and a B737 type rating, plus a PIC proficiency check in the 737 within the preceding 25 calendar months. Outside 25 months? You need our requalification course instead — call us and we'll place you in the right one.
Does this cover my instrument currency?
Yes — the course satisfies 61.57 instrument currency and the instrument proficiency check, plus day and night takeoff-and-landing recency, alongside the 61.58 check.
